    Kill switch ?

Plugged my boat in friday night to charge. Came out saturday and turned the power switch over to check gas and nothing happened. Kill switch was loose so I put it back on good. Got to the ramp and my trim didn't work....battery was dead. Switched one of my trolling batteries over to get her started. Let it idle and switched them back. While the motor was idling the warning beeps happened ever few seconds until the batteries were hooked back up. Ran it for about 30 minutes to get some charge in the crankin battery then shut down to fish. When I fired it back up and was idling the check engine light and horn came on again. Shut it down, fired up and no problems. Took it back to the ramp and loaded. Should I be worried about this, or is it just cause I switched batteries?

I'd be checking out the output of the charger to the crankin battery first, kill switch has nothing to do with the inital turn of the key. If the battery is a regular lead cell and not maintenance free, get a battery tester to check the specific gravity of the battery. Maybe time to replace and get rid of the wing nuts if you use them go to SS nylon insert nuts with SS lock washers. CM

I need to check on this but, I think if the kill switch lanyard is pulled the E-Tec wont crank.

I would not suggest you remove the battery cables while the motor is running, the horn and Check Engine light were most likely Low Battery voltage, it will have set a code and your tech can retrieve it for you.

If you have wing nuts holding the cables to the battery, change them to nylon lock nuts.
