Looking for some advice on gauge replacement...

    Hey, Ya'll,

I'm looking for some advice... I have a 2003 Tr-20. I am getting ready to install a Level 1 MercMonitor. I am thinking of moving the smaller gauges (H2O pressure and Voltage) to the blanks just above the steering column. I intend on keeping the RPM/Trim gauge and am not sure if I should keep the Speedo/Fuel. I am unsure about getting a stand alone fuel gauge??? I am hesitant to start the project until I know exactly what I will need to keep and what the SmartCraft gauge will replace. Ultimately, I would like to put my Helix 12 in the center of the console. If anyone has done a similar upgrade and could help me out with pics, tips or advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Feel free to call, text or send advice/pics to my cell (757) 576-3283.

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

Where did you get your Faria combo gauge? Was it easy to install? Thanks again!

If you are running a Level 1 Mercmonitor you will probably run that on a tri-data screen with RPM, water pressure and coolant temp. Use your GPS for speed. The only other gauges I use are Fuel Level, and trim but these require a fuel harness and digital trim sender but you can stay with those as analog then replace them later but you will not have thise inputs to the Mercmonitor. You can get Systemlink gauges that daisy chain from the Mercmonitor for virually any gauge you need. I have done this on two of my boats and helped a few other guys too. The Systemlink gauges use data straight from the ECU so know need for questioning their accuracy. I got everything from Don and Rhonda Weed with a 10% BBC discount too.

Here is the first one I did.
    Replacing Analog Gauges.

There are many option is with Systemlink Gauges:

Thanks for the info! I have my work cut out for me. I ordered a Faria multi-function gauge with fuel/trim/H20 pressure and voltage which I will keep analog for now. I will use the MercMonitor for RPM and coolant. I amperfectly happy with theGPDS speed on my Humminbird. I may invest in a fuel harness and digital trim sender down the road. If I don't like the Faria, I will look into getting Systemlink gauges. Thanks, again for the info shipmate!

Dave, if you need a custom dash panel replacement that will allow you to mount your unit at the console, I have those available in 3/4” material. Also it has the speedometer deleted as well. I’d be glad to send you pics and information if you’re interested. I have sold a lot of these and have a reputable business going sir. Please feel free to send me a message if you are interested.
