    prop/motor question

ok not sure where this is supposed to be but heres the sitrep. I launched my boat and went to get on plane but if felt like i was dragging something, so i backed down checked motor (hydrilla is abundent) all clear so I went to get back on plane and the RPM's shot to 5000 and the speed was only like 35mph. Alot of people says spun hub/prop so I replaced the hub. In the mean time I read that you can put the motor in gear and try to spin the prop. So I pushed the throttle forward walked to the back of the motor and I can spin the prop CW but there is a clanking sound. (could not spin it CCW) Now does this sound like a spun hub or adjustment issues. Sounds to me like it is not going all the way in gear for some reason. When the boat is in gear are you supposed to beable to spin the prop. On my 115 johnson I tried that and when you spin the prop you can hear the pistons and rods moving as well.... Boat is a 2006 bass tracker 1990 protx with the 90 2 stroke (2006 also stock motor on boat)

Shoukd be kinda hard to spin the prop in gear with the compression from the motor.. Have ya pulled the spark plugs to see what they look like??

It's normal to be able to spin the prop one way with clicking and it should not spin the other way. Shift from forward to reverse and the direction it spins with clicking will reverse. When you are going 35 mph at 5000 rpm, does it sound like something is slipping? If so, and you are sure the hub is good, there has to be something causing the prop to cavitate or ventilate.
I live on a lake not too far from you and I'll be happy to help you if you want to drive over.

Hey Brandon, I can't make it Wednesday. Are you sure you have the motor tucked under far enough? If it's trimmed up, the bow will go up and plow the water.
