Ok, I'm going to Orlando with the wife for the week of Oct 2-9 this year. I'm trying to do someMy question is who is a good guide to book a trip with for a day while I'm down there? I'd like to do some largemouth fishing and would really LOVE to do a day of tarpon fishing also but I don't think it's a good time of year for tarpon in that area is it? Thanks for any recommendations you guys might have.

Chip I dont know about a guide but I sure one of us FL. guys will be able to get you out on Toho or Kiss get back to us in Sept
If you really wanna tarpon fish, check out the Boca Grande area in the spring. They get runs of tarpon well in excess of 100lbs and it is a free for all with guides all over and every boat hooked up with bigazz fish, all the while tryin to keep the 12' hammerheads from eating their catch.
I'd love to check that out Bullet.. but we're going down there in Oct. for our 2yr anniversary... last year we went back to Cancun. Either way I'm going to do at least one day of fishing if not two.. was hoping to do one salt one fresh but if the tarpon is a no go then I may just try for the one freshwater day.

Check out http://www.floridasportsman.com, they pretty much focus on all the saltwater stuff that goes on round the state. East Central is the area that orlando/port canaveral/melbourne/sebastian would be in. A lot of times them guys are looking for people to go out with them to help split the fuel costs. May be worth a shot, even if just to see what is biting that time of year.
