    Eating VRO pumps

My first vro lasted 12 years replaced 18 months ago . The new one is now bad took both apart and the air pump diaphram is bad in both. The rubber coating on the back side of neoprene is cracking but the rubber is still flexible and soft. What can be causing this? I do not want to destroy the new one. The boat hasn't backfired, I replaced the pulse limiter on the last one as well. Can it be from engine tuner or alcohol in fuel!

You running E-85 in it? Or some type of fuel additive with high alcohol content in it?

No I run 89 octane BP amoco or Chevron fuel only, the only additive is 2+4! I did run seafoam in one tank. I have always tried to be careful with what fuel I run.

Engine tuner won't do that it is applied after the VRO either way of dose. You could have got a bummer I went through a small spat of bad ones but they went bad with in warranty replacement.
