I'm asking this for a friend. He has a 1995 Johnson 150. It went to shutting down on him the last time he took it out and the dealer said he thinks that it sounds like the power pack. I have a junked motor just like it so I let him take mine. He also said that in the last 6 months he had 2 different cranking batteries leak and his tack is not reading correct. I recommended that he change the regulator as well. Is it possible for the regulator to be letting it overcharge and that be what caused the power pack to go out? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
