Caution - Thefts at Boat Ramps in the Scottsboro area

Looks like the warmer weather is bringing out the thieves again, a consistent problem in the area. Take proper precautions and be smart.

Scottsboro police are investigating numerous vehicle break-ins over the last few weeks, including at least four over the weekend. Lt. Scott Matthews said the break-ins appear to mostly be happening on the south end of the city at boat ramps.
"We've had several reports lately," said Matthews. "Don't leave your valuables within sight in your vehicle," Matthews recommended. "And lock you car doors."
Matthews said, in some cases, windows have been busted to gain entry into the vehicle. "That usually happens when they see valuables in plain view," said Matthews.

Yeah its a cryn shame! I know at Siebold that little ramp is so grown up so there is plenty of cover. Not unusual to see glass all over the parking lot in nice rows where they have gone down the line. I dont dare leave a single thing in my truck if possible. Probably a bunch of frickin meth heads!!!!!!
