    Fast Strike and Intruder guys

Just checing interest on this. I have "heard" from a very reliable source that swapping to Ficht 150/175 reed cages is a nice modification for these engines.

I believe I have convinced a very well known person to make a set of carbon fiber reeds for the ficht cages. These would be single stage reeds, not boyesens.

Anyone else have an interest in this?

It depends on the cost vs. gain. How much more power will this make and what will the price be?

Don't know the price of the reeds, probably more then boyesens. You aren't going to get major gains in power, maybe 10 to 12 hp tops, but the ficht cages are supposed to improve low speed idle as well.

What I would expect is much better throttle response and perhaps 100 to 200 rpms on top, if you aren't winding the snot out of your engine.

I am propping mine to turn about 5400 with a load, so it has a pretty big prop on it. Right now I get about 5200 out of it with a tourney load and partner. I have seen as high as 67 on the speedo, which is pretty much on with my GPS so far.

What I can tell you is the Ficht cages flow way better, you can look at them and tell. Plus they are rubber coated.

Just remember, most people turn the 150's to high. You don't need to be running 5800 with a 150, peak power is at 5400.
