Hi all. I have a 1995 Evinrude 25 outboard, model E25ELEDM, Ser # G 04089153.
I purchased the motor from a private party in January and had a new owner inspection completed by an evinrude service shop. Everything checked out fine and the mechanic told me not to be concerned if the motor had a slight miss every now and again, that it was inherent to the model of engine. They did not change plugs but did a compression check. I went to Walmart today to get some spare plugs for the boat and ran into some confusion. The plugs that are currently in the motor are champ QL77JC4. The application book at walmart listed the plug needed as a champ 827 without a gap, just a hole coming out of the plug bottom. Champs website lists 2 plugs, a model 5931 and a model 811. Both plugs with a .030 gap.
What plug am I supposed to have and would the ql77jc4's that are in there cause any problems? Thanks so much! Smitty
