Having a bad week at work guy's

Last week one of my retired coworkers (James "levi" Garrett)and his wife were in fla. on vacation, his wife was driving there motor home when it got hit from the side with high winds and pushed it off the road, he got up and tried to help her guide it back on the road when it flipped. He is still in icu with head injuries and his wife has been released after four days in the hospital. Havent heard anything in the last three days on them. Some of you may know him from lay lake, he fished a lot of tx there and has spent a lot of time in Montgomery drag strip. Chad your going to know all of them.

Got a text monday morning that one of my close coworkers died of a heart attack at 1am monday morning. Ken Coffee, a good man/good family man in his mid 40's. Shock to us all, non-smoker/good health we though.

Went to the snack bar out here and got to talking to one of my welders (Burchfield) at lunch yesterday and he told me they found cancer in his throat, beleive they have it early enough to treat it after surgery and they think it will be ok.

Just been a bad couple weeks, we spend more time together out here than we do with our familys so we get pretty close and it like a family member when something goes wrong. So next time you send up a prayer please include these guys. Thank's for listening.

Up date, Mr Coffee died of a aneurism, not a heart attack. For some strange reason i can accept that easier than a heart attack.

They are trying to get Mr Garrett to a point so they can transport him home, maybe UAB.

And if that is not enough i beleive me and Lorraine are ready to call it quit's.

When it rains it pours, Dang menopause.

    Mike,
I hate to hear bad news coming out of the pipe shop. We will certainly be praying for the guys and their families as well as keeping you and Lorrainne in our thoughts and prayers.
That is a tough place to work and the best part of the pipe shop are the people (not necessarily the management) in the plant. I wonder how my old partner Marvin that worked down in the physical lab tensile testing the pipe is doing?

Mr Garrett was transferred back to Bham last week but passed saturday morning, his wife is getting better but has a broken vertebra in her neck and road rash from where the motor home was upside down and the roof torn off and she was being dragged down the road. Just have to leave it to the big guy now to make everything ok. Me and mama have worked out most of the kinks, looks like it's going to work out. All these hours at work and this heat makes for a short fuse. Cant wait to get back on the water.

Hoping that the Lord is comforting those who lost their loved ones. Hope you and the wife work it out also.
