I was planning on taking a fising trip this fall and was wondering which lake in Al would be best to catch some spots as far as numbers.

Mitchell and Jordan are always a good choice for spots. I especially love Mitchell. Holt Lake on the Warrior River is also one of the best kept secrets for huge spots in my opinion. I've caught more spots over 5lbs there than I have anywhere else. I've also seen a guy weigh in 30lbs of spots in one tournament. Three of which were 7lbs or bigger.
Smith Lake is also great for Spots. And it's a lot of fun fishing at night during the summer. Throw a big blad and bounce it down the bluffs and they will scare you they hit it so hard.![]()

If you're not concerned about size, Martin will give up the numbers particularly in the fall.
Go with one of the Coosa Lakes.

I would try Martin or Jordan. Martin for the numbers and Jordan for the size
Any pointers for Mitchell and Jordan since I will be there in 2 weeks to fish?
It was tough up there last weekend on Jordan. Caught a few heads in the grass and a few spots deep. I'd stick to the grass as long as I could and then fish deep docks as that would be the easiest pattern to find without some help. Jigs, jigs, jigs, haha. Im going back next weekend and I'll try to remember to post a report (not that Im an expert up there, but maybe it will help)
Guy's it's been a while since but i used to catch a lot of spots on logan martin.
