    Results SoAl Swift Creek

SoAl took on the Alabama River Saturday with a total of ten boats.. We changed the tournament hours because it was suppose to be a little cooler. Never never trust the weather man. It was hot! Most people reported missing big fish that morning. Fishing was pretty good for the short time water was being pulled, but when they stopped it was like someone closed the door.

I want to thank everyone for showing up early to get the pre tournament stuff taken care of. Also to those who drove so far to fish with us. They didn't drive all that way for the money so maybe we're doing something right

"The tourney part of our club is NOT the most important part of our club experience but is to provide friendly fishing competition with a small reward and bragging rights."

    Congratulat to ours winners:

    Jason Law-big fish....3.8

    Wes/Doyle 1st place......9.6

    second place was a tie:
    Mark/Steve...8.10
    Randy Matt....8.10

Jason Law with tx big fish

    Mark and steve

    Drew and Brian

Thanks guys, I had a good time, hopefully I can make some more of these events, it is nice to go fish a "fun" tournament and not have to worry about points and such! It was good seeing some of you again and meeting others. Sorry I could not have lunch with y'all but needed to get back and let the dog out of the house. Congrats to wes and doyle on the 1st place. I saw Mark and steve about 1230 and they still had those same two "finnesse rods" in their hands. Maybe I should learn how to throw a shaky head . It's just too hard to put down the jig, the toad and the 8"lizards (which is what the big fish came on).

where did that cool weather go....

enjoyed seeing some new faces and new places thanks to Mark for letting me ride along...also the barbecue was MUCH improved over the last place you guys took me for barbecue and much faster than the marina at Eufuala (Rick you should a been there) enjoyed the fellowship ... wish more folks could stick around for lunch.

my finnesse stick is a 7'4" MH spinning rod, i only pick it up when folks are watching so they won't see what i am really catching my fish on ... after throwing the frog, dragging the football jig, swimming the jig, throwing cranks, skipping finnesse jig under overhangs, skipping wacky worms, dragging a worm and i think everything else in my tackle bag.... i had to pull out the shaky head.. if you see me with a shaky head, then i am struggling big time for a bite...

my fish came cranking, flipping and a ton of shorts on that shaky head... i don't advise anyone to learn how to throw a shaky head... stay away from it... it is boring, it only catches shorts...

    looking forward to September.

It was hot but was nice seeing you guys again --

Nice toad Jason -- glad you were able to join us--

Missed rick at the weigh in -- was looking forward to hearing some good wisdom cause warren was all out --

the shaky head is king -- we caught most of are fish on it -- we had 1 jig fish and it came after they closed the door (turn off the water) -- we also had 1 buzz bait fish but it was on the backlash patter never hit it on top -- and 1 trick worm - the rest were shaky head --

Sorry i had to run -- my wife got called in to work and my son had a migraine -- so the family was calling --

See yall in a few months -- i have some family stuff scheduled for September.
