ok i have a 797c2i side image sonar/gps on dash , i have a minn kota powerdrive auto pilot with universal sonar2 on it, are you guys familiar with this trolling motor, im trying to decide what fishfinder to put on front of boat thats compatible with the trolling motor sonar that i can also link to my side sonar unit on the dash.? why cant they just make a unit that points a direction and says over there dummy??

I put the 787c2 on the bow of my boat and I like it. Great resolution, great detail. It mounted flush on my Ranger. You would want this package as it comes cheaper w/o transducer.

Your universal sonar 2 is supposed to be compatible with all dual beam plus HB units. Which the 787c2 is. Get the interlink and it will connect with the 797 at the console. And then, you are in business. It will share way points, GPS , and all that good stuff. But you still need separate chips. There is no way around this. I would get Dougs advice in the GPS section and maybe join his yahoo group on side image technology.
