Got motor on the boat and broke in everything seems to be great so far except one problem , The #2 injector has Gas coming out of it. It looked to me like it was coming out of where the injector goes into the head. I pulled it out yesterday and there was some carbon buildup around the flange that goes around the injector. I cleaned it all up and re installed it. Ran the boat again today and for the most part it has stopped but there is still a little seepage. I only removed the injector from the motor and did not take the injector apart. Is there an O-Ring anywhere that could be causing it to leak?
I do not want to have to send this thing back to Fla to get fixed and I have a local dealership that I can get parts from if needed.

Don't mess around with a gas leak or combustion leak on your motor.

As long as the sealing area on the cylinder head is not damaged, you should replace the injector (Expensive) and have a dealer reprogram the engine computer for it.

Another avenue is to have it rebuilt by DFITechnologies.com but the computer will still need to be reprogrammed.

Talk to your dealer.

I spoke to the rebuild shop this morning about the leaking injector. He said he had an injector out of a 2002 225 HO that he was going to send me and that I was to take it to my local dealer and he could program it for me. Are these things interchangable like that? I don't want to put something in my motor that will not work.

They both use part # 5005916 Port Injector! Just make sure it is the port injector and have your dealer program the EMM for the new coefficient numbers.

SeaHorse it was not the injector but the cylinder head where the injector seats is egg shaped. Now I have to change a head!
