Since this boards been dead for so long I thought I would start a topic.

What did you catch this past weekend? I know you all went some where being the weather was so nice and the bass are probably on bed where you went. Tell us about the big one! .....and let's keep it honest

I'll start by saying I went to Mitchell Thursday for about 4 hours. Only caught two small ones, but when I came back to the ramp a man and his son had a catfish that 50lb scales would not weigh! It was the ugliest 60-70lb fish I have ever seen.

I christened the new 201 by taking my 4-year old out Saturday morning. We stopped and bought a 1/2 tube of crickets and put 5 brim in the livewell using his Tigger rod and my wife's Zebco 33 combo. It was just me and Jackson, so it was fun. We gave the brim to two ladies fishing off the dock at the boat ramp.

Then, I went out Sunday by myself and boated 6 largemouth in the 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 range. I lost a couple more at the boat that I'd have been a little more serious about had there been $$$ involved. I just got out and went to where I knew I could catch a few fish and had a great time.

My big catch was a 10-15 gar I hooked in the side. I wouldn't have been that concerned if it wasn't snagged on my $15.00 rattletrap (Luckycraft). As I wore it down after about 15 minutes and got it near the boat where I could reach it with my pliers the hook pulled out. That is probably the only time I will be happy losing one beside the boat. Another toothy Eufaula critter.

I was on Wheeler. I'm planning on going back this Saturday morning again. I should be able to do this exact same thing for another week or two. Then, I'll have to change locations. I don't have a tournament on Wheeler for another month and the water should be up by then so I'll be fishing elsewhere. This is just a nice relaxing place I can go and catch some fish.

Did not get the boat out this weekend.(No gas money) So instead I hit the pond for a few hours Sunday afternoon. It was kinda strange cause I can usually catch a bunch on soft plastics but they would not even touch em. I caught around 10 nice fish on a Mann baby 1 minus. Mostly 2-3LB range. Sure helps boost my confidence when I actually catch some fish.

I caught a few small ones sunday evening on upper bear creek, thats about it. they've got lock jaw for me since they're bedding.

I took the tin boat out to lake harris, it's a small version of smith, lake tuscaloosa and those clear deep spotted bass type lakes.
Fished about 6 hours, 2 of those my GF layed out on front deck to get some sun(I like it when she does that:) I caught about 40 or so, most about a lb or so the biggest over 3, they are in every tree laydown. I could throw in with a fluke, count to 3 and set the hook, had a fish everytime I did that, just about flipped the GF out. She thinks I'm the fish whisperer(sp) hahahaha.....Got her fooled :)

That sounds awesome Danny! We went to Eufaula. Didn't catch nothing but some small males.... I hope the females will be biting by tourney day.

8-4-2..
I went to Millers Ferry today and caught 8. All were spots best fish was 3.5 most were around the 2lbs size but had a couple of dinks to. Missed 4 more and had 2 to run under tress or logs and hang me up. All so caught a fairly large Gar. Man He had a mouth full of teeth
