Eufaula is pretty dead right now but should get better as the weather cools.
If I had a choice at this moment I would head to West Point. The fish are schooling and it's pretty east to catch some fish. Most will be spots but they pull really good.
My bass club had a tournament there on Sunday and it was the best tournament of the year weight wise. I lucked out and caught one 8.15. A 7.3 and 5.75 were also weighed in. My total limit was 13.95 with the rest being spots.
If you can't find the schoolers, 15 feet is the magic depth.![]()
running crank at the deep guess i hold off on eufaula for 2 more weeks i want to take the wife donw and catch some nice size bass
If you run the cove on the west side of 431 make sure you stay close to the markers or on the left side. if you go to far to the right there are a lot of trees and stumps and rock bottoms you can't see that will mess up a motor.

hey thanks well if i do go it will be right at SUN UP so i can get the morning bite and then hit some deep water ledges around main point how that sound
Find some grass near deep water and fish it with frogs and other grass lures. However don't miss what I said in the first post. Go up to West Point!!!! Some fantastic fishing right now and anyone, I mean anyone can catch them. Just look for surface activity.![]()
ok here u go if i go up on Saturday this weekend where should i put in and from that loaction where should i try and go i would like to go about 3 miles +/-- some
i would put in i thinking around highway 29 and lower glass bridges road
might even try to hit GOAT ROCK lake
Goat Rock is a strange lake. It is so small and they pull so much water through it, it is hard to keep bass patterned. The nice thing is that you can beat the banks and catch some fish. I use a spotsticker with a green pumpkin finesse worm. It only has one ramp and that is down a crappy road.
If you go to West Point there are a zillion ramps. Shaeffer Heard (sp?) by the dam is good. Maple Creek north of this is also fine. The next one up is Earl Cook, then Glass Bridge. I prefer to put in at one of the more southern ramps.
Wherever you put in watch for rocky points and throwa pop R or spotsticker. Be prepared for schooling fish and have a rod readily available with a rattletrap, Little George, or something like that. Also as I stated above a CR rig in 15' will work if you can find something at that depth such as a roadbed, hump, or point.
man than for that info sounds great do u live near there
I live in Columbus...Midland is northern Columbus
ok well i am in the army living on post
might try and hook up some time and can show me some of the lakes i chip in on gas
Be happy to...Don't forget about the Ft. Benning Bass Club. They are some serious fishers.
