Pictures from the BBC tourney at Logan Martin

Here are a few pics from today's tournament on Logan Martin. It was a little hot but at least the steady breeze kept it reasonably tolerable for most of the day.

The first picture was taken early in the day just after the hawk in the picture swooped down on a flock of ducks not more than 20 yards from our boat just as I was putting it the first fish the livewell. It sounded like all hell had broken loose! Yet another reason to get out on the lake even if the fish don't cooperate every time!

Avery, I was wondering if you were able to get some pics before the big storm. Man, the weather changed in a hurry. I'm glad we quit at 2:00 because we would have been on the water when that mess hit. I was the last one to leave and the lightning was hitting all around me. It even struck a light pole 100 yards in front of my truck as I was leaving.

Winn, congrats to you and Danny on the win. Has Danny stopped having visions yet of "the one that got away"?

No he hasn't. In fact by the time we got back to the ramp for weigh-in that fish was so big it would have sunk my boat.

And if it was nearly as big as he'd have us believe, he won't be getting over it for quite a while. I still get that sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach every time I think about one that I lost at Guntersville on a buzzbait a couple of years ago. I only got a glimpse of it but I'm still convinced that it would've been the fish of a lifetime.

I had a great time. Thanks Winn for letting me tag along again. Thanks again to everyone else for fishing and having enough boats to fish.
Catching our big fish with about 8 minutes togo really help get over the 12lb spot that broke my 8lb line :) It was in the same place also, I told winn I wanted to stop there before we head in to get my lure back:) didnt do that but did upgrade the sack by over 2lbs. Just goes to show, you have to fish to the end. You can ask Winn, I'll always fish untill he makes be stop and sitdown to go.
I always enjoy fishing with you guys and looking forward to the next one.

congrats on the win Winn and Danny, wish I could've been there, love that lake. Glad to hear that everyone made it through the heat and back home safe. Ya'll better practice though cause its gonna take more weight than those numbers I saw to win the next one since I WILL be there, just joking ya'll...Congrats again

Thanks guys, that was a suprise. Like Danny said, he just had to try that spot again before coming in and that did it for us. Danny don't give up 'til the last minute. I always think we are going to be late for weigh-in because he just won't quite and sit down. We had 3 fish by 8am and 5 fish by 11am and started culling. Heck, I even caught two nice fish this trip and that was fun.
