Anyone replace older console with newer

I have a 2008 Triton 20x2 and wanted to research switching out the dash to allow an HDS 10 flush mount. Just curious on if this is possible and how much labor is involved. Is it a simple remove and replace of the console?

Also curious if anyone has an idea of prices for the newer dash and options for Mercury gauges. All help, advice, and tips appreciated.

    Thanks
    Greg

I would say yes probably about $800 per console, But I would think if you had a good fiberglass shop nearby they could just fill your current console in and relocate the gauges. Try C&O marine and see what they think.

Im almost positive that you can do it. Your X2 console sits in that cresent moon shape tray and the newer style sits on the straight ledge alittle lower. Your talking about a lot of wires and steering cables to work around. Im mechanically challenged and would be worried to try it but I would think that as long as you have good orginization and labled all the wires you would be ok. I dont think there would be too much labor though because the consoles just bolt on(with allitle trimming to get a proper fit). Others here probably know better than me! Good Luck

could you not have someone cut an aluminum custom cnc plate to fit over the entire current dash and reposition your gauges around the HDS10 have them do the cut outs in the plate, then you attach it and do your cut outs, that cant cost more than a couple hundred. contact the baitbar guy here, he will help you

It is possible, I'm in the prosses of doing that in the next couple of weeks. Talk to micheal at bunch marine, he contacted triton for me to see what the prosses is. I've ordered all the parts from bunch and will start the project mid march. You will need new gauges an new dash and I've been told you need a new windshield because the consol is wider.
