    TR186 jack plate question????

I'm think of putting a 6" JP on my 2001 TR186. I have a couple questions....I found a 6" Detwiler for a great price. How do I know for sure if that plate is compatiable. And if I would need shims or spacers.....

Make sure the jack plate does not have any negative angle built in, it should work fine.

should work just fine, no shims or spacers. BUT do buy GOOD jack plate bolts, you will need longer ones. you can buy grade 8 or just buy the kit from TH marine
