Took the boat out last week had throttle all the way down and was only reving out to about 3000 to 3500RPM and speed was about 8 Knots.
tilted motor up so prop was half in water and half out gave it a rev put leg down and was back in business what could have this been second time it has happened.
motor is 130hp

Start with a compression check, all should be within 15 pounds, then check the ignition.
compression is at 125 to 120
what do you mean by cheacking ignition?
With a timing light. Mark the flywheel at top dead center for each jug then attach the timing light to each cylinders spark plug. Hit the timing pointer with the beam and only that cylinder should light up when it fires.
There is also a tester that attaches to the plug leads that check initial spark your dealers service department has one.
