There are hundred's of oil's out there that would do an adequate job, the synthetics being a better choice than conventionals. The one I like the best is Royal Purple 75-90. It allows less friction on the internals and has a super lubricative quality, which means a more efficient motor for you. The H.O. gearcase housing is a nicely designed piece that seems to appreciate the lighter weight oil. Most O'reilly auto stores are now stocking the R.P. products!

There is a fine line between \"FISHING\" and just standing in the boat going through the motions!!!

Brp's HPF-xr ultra is what the E-TECs run for 300 hours.

That is what I have use for the past two years with great success. However, at the end of this season, I switch over to HPF PRO Gearcase Lubricant for the next crabbing season. I do a lot of shifting in and out of gear on a four hour crab run, approximately 120 times an hour.
My gearcase is old and the only change made to it has been the oil, oil plug screws (E-tec allen head) and new gaskets at every oil change. Twenty-three years old and still going strong.

    Regards,

If you can't run with the big dogs, just stay on the porch.
