    looking for OEM drain plug

I have a 1998 Javelin 389DC. I am looking for the OEM screw-in type drain plug. I would rather not replace the entire housing. I have a friend with a 1990 Javelin 373FS which has the exact same plug so I have seen it and used it. This is not a T-H marine or seadog brand. Right now I am using 1/2" NPT threaded pipe cap with an O-ring but I still collect a couple gallons of water throughout an 18hr day. I called stratos, C&O Marine and the original seller of the boat and no one has any laying around. Let me know what you guys may have or if I need to move this to the wanted to buy forum. I have pictures of the drain plug should you require them, it has a much finer thread than any of the T-H marine or Sea Dog brands. Thanks.

Re: looking for OEM drain plug (fat1)

I have an old plug with very fine threads, Let me see if I can find it. Not sure what brand it is...

OK, it's called Seachoice brand..model #18781 for 1" diameter drain hole. It does not say what the thread number is, so not sure it is fine enough. It is finer than the TH one.....

I am pretty sure this is what you are looking for. It mounts in a 1" hole but the plug itself is much smaller.

Or replace the whole thing with this:

    200HP HO Evinrude

Re: looking for OEM drain plug (Tpayneful)

I have an old Seachoice one. The inside dia, of the hole in the fitting, as well as the outside dia of the plug itself, is 7/8", only slightly smaller than the 1" outside diameter of the fitting which installs in the hull. Plug is definitely larger than the 1/2" the OP references.

I have a 379T with the same screw in plug. No idea where you can find a replacement but I have a couple spare rubber plugs that came with the boat. I can drop one in the mail for you if you just need something to keep the water out. If you are looking to replace the plug as original you'll have to keep searching. Let me know.
