2004 285 ProXL 150HP Evinrude DI Setup?

Ok ran my boat again today...
2004 285 ProXl 2004 150hp Evinrude DI
6 inch jackplate 3.5" below pad
22 Pitch Stock SS Prop 20PSI Water Pressure

My tach showed 3800 RPM 53MPH WOT
So I tapped the tach and it was stuck on 3800. Once I tapped it I was getting 5000RPM trimmed level does this seem right? It was just me empty livewell about 50lbs of fishing gear and half tank of gas. If I trimmed way up I would get 58mph @ 5700 rpm.

Number one you think my tach is shot? It keeps sticking on 3800 RPM.

Number two where do I go from here with a new prop and motor height?

Your tach is wasted. Test a 23 tempest plus or a 23 Razor3 and raise the jackplate.

Well im glad you find that funny! lol jk I figured it was gone, glad it isn't the motor, my hole shot sucks too will this help that?
