2007 285xl Prop suggestions

Im running a 2009 Opti 150 with a 23 prop. With plugs in boat would hop up on plane. But I could only get it up to 57 mph. What are you going running MPH?? Suggestions?

2005 model of the same boat and the same motor turning a Tempest Plus 23 I get 62mph on the GPS with a light load and solo in the boat. 8" hydraulic jack plate hanging on the back.

Whats engine height set at? Elevation, rpm and WP @ WOT?

I need to learn how to measure the height. I have no clue! RPM's were at about 6500

I doubt that.. Have your tach looked at for accuracy.

Somewhere in the 2.5-3.5 in below the pad. 23 tempest plus or 23 Razor3

Thanks again for the info. So if I added a 24 tempest how many inches would I look for?

Keep raising it until you loose water pressure less than 15 lbs, loose bow lift, or loose speed... Then lower it 1/4 inch.

So I didnt get a chance to get the boat out again but I did adjust the motor. Motor was 6inchs below pad. I set it for 3 inches. We'll see how it does Friday.

Ok so get this. I lost about 3mph after setting the motor up.
