    1996 Stratos 285 XL Boat Weight/Trailer ?

I drove down to Alabama from Minnesota to buy/pick up my Dad's '96 Stratos 285 XL, (150 Evinrude), and on the way home the trailer just "give out". The axle was apparently bent and I was going through tires like a NASCAR driver. I got to Iowa City and the axle broke so my boat is stuck in Iowa City. It's been there for 2 weeks now because the shop is having a hard time finding an axle for it. I'm about ready to give up and look for a new trailer. Anyone know how much this boat would weigh or what kind of weight rating the trailer should have? Are axles for Stratos trailers hard to find? And what would be a reasonable cost for them?

    Thanks!

Try http://www.budsmotorsports.com You will have to adjust the bunks to fit the boat but you can't beat the price. Trailors are new for the price of used.

Wow! Bud is the MAN! He measured up my boat via a phone call to the place where my boat was stranded, suggested a model, delivered it 375 miles away (for cheaper than I could have driven it), and it was twice as nice as the old trailer. This thing was brand new and fits like a glove! Awesome guy to work with too! Can't say that I've ever had a better purchasing experience. Thanks a ton!
