Thanks everyone.

I tightened it down again and when the bolts stared to bend and twist, I hit it with a hammer. Nothing happened, until I got pissed and straight on swung as hard as I could and, thankfully, hit it square on the center bolt and the thing popped off. It sounded like a gun shot but not it works great!
