What oil is needed for 2002 225 HO BOMBARDIER EVINRUDE or is it just what you want to use?
I would use Evinrude XD-50. It's a semi syn and is recommened oil for that engine.
Now if you want to step it up, run your oil tank almost empty and start using XD-100.

It depends on what the computer is set to use. My 200HP HO Etec is programmed to use XD-100 oil. You need to take it to an Evinrude authorized repair shop and get them to tell you what it is and set it to either XD-50 or XD-100. I would ask the previous owner what it was set to use. That is if it is an Etec.

Our motors don't have an oil option in the EMM. And from what I gathered from the Rude board, it was taken out of the Etec's as well.

Run the XD100. It is a the best oil out there. It has Carbon-Guard in it already so you will not need to add it to your fuel to keep carbon buildup low. It also has less exhaust smell than XD50( which is already almost non existent with the HO.
