    Switching Fuel Tank problems....

1991 275 DC, purchased a couple of months ago. Two 15 gallon tanks...I filled both of them up last month. On the side console, I have a fuel selector: port and starboard. Behind the drivers seat, there is a knob that says pull for port, push for starboard.

Well, I've tried toggling between both the fuel selector and the pull-push knob, yet it seems like fuel is only being drawn from the starboard side fuel tank. I'm now sitting at full for my port, and just below 1/4 tank on the starboard side. I've tried changing the selector on the dash and adjusting the pull-knob. even tried shutting off the engine and then re-starting the engine after making the adjustment...anybody have any tips on how to make sure I'm switching tanks? Any manual way to switch tanks?
    Thanks in advance!

I think the one on the side of the consel is for the live wells and the one by the seats is for the fuel my older 201 it was in the splash well in the back of the boat ?

The one on the side console says Fuel Selector. When I toggle the switch up and down, it changes my dash reading.

The one behind the seat also says fuel selector.

I'm still wondering if there is a manual way to change the selected tank...

Mine does the same thing. The cable that switches the tanks is stretched. Follow the cable to the rear of the boat and you'll be able to manually switch the tanks. It's kinda hard to reach at first but after doing it a couple of times you'll get the hang of it. I normally have my buddy turn the dial while I manually switch the tank in the back.
The toggle switch on the dash is only for the fuel guage.

IM me if you need more info

I'll go home and try that first thing! Guess it's kind of a pain to do it that way, but much better than being out in the middle of the lake and "running out of gas" with a full 15 gallons on the other side.

    Thanks for the info!

It happened to me and I found out the hard way........trust me, with a wife and twin 5 year olds in the boat, it wasn't pretty I went to the gas station and the tank was full. Didn't make any sense.........

If you need more info on how to locate it, please let me know. It took me a little bit to find it but now it's easy for me to find

Re: Switching Fuel Tank problems.... (hulapopr)

I went back and followed the pull cable. Sure enough, saw the movement of the cable...only problem, the plastic piece attached to the cable is broken off the fuel selector. Must have happened before I purchased the boat. I can't find a way to manually switch it, there isn't any piece remaining on the fuel line that I can see (where the broken piece was attached to)

I'd be interested in finding out about the part that manually switches them. Thanks!
