    New 285XL

Just picked up a new 285XL from C and O Monday. Hope to have it in the water for at least an hour of break-in today. I they were good about educating me on the break-in procedure (Optimax 150). Any other advice for my first brand new boat???

Leave your rods at home or you will spend more time fishing during the break-in period Nice rig

Take it back, and get a 52 inch shaft on the trolling motor and get a gps up front and back and habe them linked. Do that and thats about as good a rig as you can get!!!!! Got mine at cando and its been a great rig.

I have a yellow and black 285XL and love it. I'm sure you will love yours, also.

Great advice on leaving the rods at home during break-in. I took mine and ended up with more time on the trolling motor than on the Opti...

According to picture #2 you need to take it back and get a prop. Very nice boat.

LOL that is funny cause I was wondering why it would not pull away from the dock. These photos were from C and Os add. I will be getting her out this afternoon and will replace those with some of my own.

This is my first and probably last brand new boat.

When I came home with it and my wife saw the bill, she commented she hoped I could remember when our last son was conceived and walked away red faced. Wonder what she meant by that comment???????

Been there, heard that... usually ever weekend when I get home from fishing, a few hours later than I told her I would be home

Why do I need the 52" shaft TM???? Kind of wish it had a terrova but not sure if I would like it or not. I do like the idea of the auto pilot.

I have a 997 for the console, a 728 for the bow, a link and weathersence all from my old boat I traded in. I also have a second 997 but have decided I do not need SI up front so it is FS.

    Re: (285Pro)

My 285 when it was full of gas and live wells full I would have trouble keeping the shaft in the water if the lake was rough. Replaced the 42 inch with the 52 problem solved. Great boat and great ride for the size. Ive got a 175 hpdi on mine and it has been a great boat. Gas mileage is awsome.
