    Automatic Bilge Pump

My boat has only a manual bilge pump on it. I would like to add an automatic bilge pump if that is possible. I have a 2004 285 pro xl. If any one has information on how to do this please let me know. Thanks

Should be no problem, just run you a hot lead from your panel to the new bilge and mount it... you wont need to run it to the switch, as it should have an internal swith (i.e. a float on it) to make it come on automatically..

That would work, use one of the panel accessory switches in case you ever want to turn it off while cleaning the bilge area. On the other hand, wire it to one of the batteries, put an inline fuse in the hot wire. Less wire to run, less voltage drop. Will not have a switch, unless you add one in the bilge area. Or just pull the fuse if you ever need to have water in the bilge for cleaning.
