    1996 Javelin 400SDC aerator

Anyone know why, when I turn on my panel power switch, my livewell aerators run constantly and I can't turn them off without killing the whole panel's power switch? My timer switch is set to the middle (off) and the main switch is set to manual. Just put new batteries in and wondering if I have something crossed up. I know it has got to be something simple but I can't seem to figure it out. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

Not familiar with your boat but do you have switch on the bow for your aerators? It could be as simple as having it in the wrong position.

Yes, on the bow are two switches: the timer and one that says "Automatic" and "Manual". The timer has a 2, 4, and 6 minute position. At the power panel, it does not matter if the aerator switch is set to "fish" or "run", it runs either way when the power switch is turned on. It should not run unless it is either set to "run" at the console or it is set to "fish" at the console and the bow switch is set to "automatic", thus activating the timer switch.

Mine has a freshwater(time/off/manual), recirculate(on/off) and timer(2/4/6) on the bow and on the console master aerator(fish/run) and recirculate(on/off)

If either of the recirculates are turned off it will shut down the recirculating pumps.

On the aerator if you turn the freshwater(bow) to off or the master aerator(console) to run will shut down the aerator.

If that doesn't shut it down then you may have a relay hung on your circuit board which on mine is underneath the bow switch panel. I had a problem with mine could not find a new circuit board around here and nobody was familiar with them. So I took it to a local electronic's repair shop and they got me back going.
But the timer is acting up on mine now so hopefully C&O carries them!
If not I will have it repaired again!
I have been very pleased with mine and only 2 small hiccups since 1994, Great systems imho!

Thanks for your reply. I looked at it again today and I think there is a "relay hung" on it. Now comes the fun part trying to fing another one.
