    vibration noise

I had to replace my lower unit and jack plate because I hit a stump. I installed a 6" manual slidemaster and the dealer installed a remanufactured lower unit. When I took it out and put it in gear I can hear vibration noise through the hull at idle speeds. I did not this hear prior to replacing the lower unit and jackplate it sounds like it traveling through the hull.

Any clue what would be causing this?

It's my backup which is an older raker 26 - I have a new raker II that I have not put on yet.

Slap the II on it and lets see if it persists.

Same problem with raker II - it's not just at idle you can feel/hear at all speeds.

Pull the prop off, take a 3' long piece of small diameter rope and wrap it around the propshaft......kinda like pull starting an old lawnmower. Slowly pull the rope making the propshaft turn looking for any wobble that would represent a bent shaft.

I'm at a lost. Different lower unit, different prop. The only thing that has changed was a new RR jackplate. If have that to high will it cause a vibration?

I think he try to tell you the rebuild unit may have a bent prop shaft?

You might just spin the prop and look for a wobble, sure sounds like what Todd is suggesting.
