Great little boats. Speed +/- 65gps, handle like a sports car, they handle rough water as good as a 17'6" boat can with a good driver, they fish real well. Great for a weekend fisherman, not so good for a guide boat or pro tx. boat. Good fuel economy, easy to tow.

I just got rid of a r18 that I owned for 6 yrs.

    thanks Eric..

I haven't seen the manuals on this boat yet, but does it measure 18 ft or is it 17.6? All I have to go on is NADA and it list it as 18ft.. Can you or anyone confirm length?

thanks again for the info and help..

I have a 2000 model of the same boat/motor. Here is my take on the whole package. It was a inexpensive glass boat from the beginning. THe retail sale new was @ 17K - 19K. It is an excellent boat in rough water (trim the motor down some), fishability, storage compartments, speed and quality built. Towing to and from the lake is a breeze. Mine came with an OMC(Minn Kota) 12 volt TM. I added another battery to double the life and now I don't run out of juice on a long day. THe live wells are big and have a removable divider with 2 hatch access, which is good. THe air/recirc. system is good. With a 4 blade Renegade 25P prop the chinewalk was mean at @ 57 MPH. I had the prop worked by Mark Croxton and added a 6" jack plate. Problem solved and top speed is @ 66GPS on the initial set up. The rear deck is as big as a 20 ft. boat.

THe only think that I wish was different was a little more room on the front deck.

This boat has all the necessary stuff to fish and ride in comfort. THere are not too many bells and whistles of luxury, but I really don't think I need more than one 12V Power access Port. Put you money into Electronics and a TM upgrade and you'll have all you need to fish.

When you try it out, fish out of it and see what you think.
I love the one I have and it is fun to blow the doors off Tritons, Rangers and other expensive brands when the owners look down at the Renegade.

    Javelin made a quality boat.

    Great Info Mr Limpet,
Do you know the actual size of the boat? I am curious if it is a true 18' boat or as mention before 17'6". From all accounts it sounds like a great boat.

    Thanks,
    Eric
