    GT150 Questions

I just recently purchased a 89 Ranger with a 89 GT150 on it. I have a couple of questions about it that hopefully someone can answer. First of all, where can I find an owner's manual for it with recommended maintenance and intervals? Second, I have a problem with the motor lifting when I put it in reverse. Any experience on this issue and if so what kind of resolution? Thank you.

Check out the trim cylinders & call Ranger for the paperwork if it is still available.

    Re: GT150 Questions (Won Hunglo)

Trey, Hey man welcome to the boards! You have came to the right place on your rig. we have 3 of the best experts on Rude/Johhny engines around. Rusty, Championman and Seahorse, these guys can give you the low down on your engine for sure.

On the manual, very important to get the Evinrude one and not the clymer or sealoc brands. Go to http://www.riversidemarinetn.com and get the number for parts and ask for Reeda. Give her the model number and serial number and tell her you want the Rude Service manual for your engine and she can order and ship it to you(make sure to tell her you are from BassBoatCentral too. Riverside marine will flat take care of you

Also you will want to browse/search threw the posts in here and get info on decarboning your motor. THis is a good thing to do to increase life expectancy of your rig. There are some instructions in another post I will try and dig up for you later. I cant help on the motor raising up but Rusty, SC or Seahorse can hook you up with some ideas. When you post for them to help make sure to add your model number and possibly your serial number, that will help them out.

welcome again and congrats on the new rig! Kerry

    Welcome to the boards.

I think the guys have covered most of your questions, get the motor to your dealer and have him check the trim unit for the problem your having with it not staying down in reverse, there are some high pressures in the unit so its best left to the pros.
