I know that they come with one already installed in the console but was wondering if there is any space available to the right of the console(where the gps/sonars used to be placed) to install one with a larger screen?

Fished with a member here who has an '06 201 w/ a Humminbird 987 mounted to the side. Wasn't a problem at all.![]()

They'll have to be RAM mounted, but will work fine. Have my 987 on one and no problems at all.

here is one for ya... my buddy mounted his Inside the boat in the front compartment... works fine... yup...
before you drill any holes make sure it gets a signal...
Here is my x-17 mounted... like stated before it needs to be on a ram mount. The gps antenna is on the back of the unit.

Jeff,
Your boat is a 294, I believe that the '05 and newer 200 & 201's have 4 guages on the right side were yours has 3. The 4 guage pod sticks up a little higher and gets in the way of units mounted like yours. It can be done with a high ram mount position but not that finished of a look in my opinion.
I have a 07 201 and an LCX 27 mounted the same way as Jeff. It sits on an inch and a half RAM mount. I can adjust it so the bottom of the unit rests directly on the top of the guages.
I don't know where we are, but we are making darn good time.
3 guages..... mine is mounted the exact same way.

I ran the wire for my GPS antenna back through the boat and mounted it directly behind the stern light outlet. All it took was to grind out a small hole at the edge of the stern light base with a dremmel tool (after removing the base) The puck was set in clear silicone. You can't see the wire, and you don't need to drill any extra holes in your boat.
