By the photo, can any experienced tech tell me what the different problems can be that’s not on the list of things done in the past 12 months??
On the computer twice and everything checked out… with hose hooked up NOT under normal running load…
The plug is almost like black glossy spray paint… no carbon build up unless I run it multiple trips, then gets little wet with carbon… otherwise, dry and can be on prongs and post..
The following are things that I have done overall
#1/#2 cylinders rebuilt due to baked piston… Been fouling plug ever since as well as loss of RPMs’/Speed as in my other posts… but hoping plug pic might help with direction to go…
All injectors rebuilt
Brand new injector for cylinder that continues to foul (same before and after new injector)
100 hour service performed, including all 4 hidden filters (HP pumps) and other filters for main service.
new trim
compression checked several times – all 6 within 3-5 of eachother
new steering bushings
Hot foot cable adjustment
Reset of TPS
Coils and plug wires/caps tested – good
Another coil assembly put on with known good coils – just to make sure
Idle adjusted low after rebuild, but then bumped back up - still seems low and jumps around - seems not to stay consistent (data shows on graph)
I’ve had so many trips to the mechanic I may have forgotten other things he’s done. No fuel line stuff or bulb yet…
I can run the boat with a new plug in that cylinder for about 10 minutes and it gets black just like that… then I get 2 maybe 3 trips out and then that boat will not get out of the whole… put new plug in and BAM… on pad no problem… but then black again… is it a too much oil problem? Too much gas? Is that cylinder getting TOO hot for some reason and toasting the plug? Computer issue? It ONLY is an issue at the one cylinder… I’m hoping if I solve that problem it will also take care of my loss of RPM/speed problem. I’m running the correct plug… same one for 17 years.. NEVER an issue until had the rebuild done. This cylinder is not the same cylinder that fried the piston, but I had both #1 and #2 done since the piston shot over to the other cylinder.
I’m a bunch of money into this… I feel like I’m just throwing money at it based on all the “it could be’s” I’ve gotten.
