    Gas Gauge 2003 Stratos

Usually when running I can see the needle on my gas gauge moving as the fuel sloshes in the tank. The past two trips it has been pegged at 3/4 even with less gas in the tank. Being that when I turn the Key off, the needle drops I am guessing my problem is in the sending unit. I reached up under the dash wiggling wires and that didnt do it. How would I test the sending unit? where would I get a new one?

The sending unit should be readily available at your local dealer. I had bought a universal one from Boater's World and for some reason it wouldn't work right. Went and picked one up from the dealer and it was actually cheaper!!! As for the testing, the sending unit is basically a potentiometer. As the fuel level increases/decreases, it changes the resistance and the needle in the gauge changes accordingly. I can't remember the actual ohms, but somebody here should be able to chime in on that.
