    Laser Cut-Out Info

I've already replaced the two white pieces of plexiglas once (Thanks Jason), and I noticed yesterday that one of the new ones was slightly lose, so I used the last little bit of tape I had leftover to re-stick it.

I decided to go to Lowes Home Improvement to see what I could find as a replacement...just in case. I found sheets of fluorescent light covers for the recessed lights in your house. They're thin and easy to score and break. The cost was around $8 a sheet.

So, what kind of two sided tape does Stratos and Champion use for these things? Can someone get a part number and a source for me? Thanks.

Why not use a silicone adhesive/sealant?

If you're going to use 2-sided tape, I'd go to a local body shop and see what they use to hold automotive trim on (like ground effect kits).

Great idea! I think I'll go do that now while I'm on vacation. Thanks

Do you think the 3M 5200 would hold up?

Try and find some of the 3M Very High Bond double sided tape. That is some strong stuff.

If it don't, you've got a sheet of stuff to keep trying different things to see what does work.

OK, the solution is 3M VHB (Very High Bond) tape.

I'll give that a try the next time one falls off. 3M VHB and RTV.

    Re: Laser Cut-Out Info (stratos22ssextreme)

When mine fell off on the 21SS I had I cleaned and prepped the area REALLY good with alcohol to clean old adhesive and dirt. I then reattached with 3M marine adhesive. No probs since..
