I have a 1999 Venom 17 w/ 90hp Johnson. This is my 2nd boat and also my first fiberglass boat so i don't have alot of personal experience to compare it to. Being a college student i need to get a boat that i buy at an affordable cost and that would be somewhat resonable to maintain. The venom has proven to that kind of rig for me. Personally i could not be happier with this boat. If you have any questions let me know...

I have a 98 379B with a 115...I like it, but do wish it was bigger or had a 150.

I'm not going to be doing any long runs, so think I'll be ok with that motor. Will know as soon as I get it out for a run which should be later this week or early next week. The boat it will replace is a old 1600 SS ebbtide that was a 16ft with a 85 horse on it. That boat is 27 years old, and served me well enough though it only had a top speed of about 40. Got out of the hole like a scalded dog though.
