I need to replace my X65 that came installed in the dash with a newer model but unsure what will fit without modifications. Not much wiggle room, was anyone replaced theirs and with what?
Thanks,
Mike

No depth finder company makes a unit that will fit the hole. I have had some friends make a cover plate for the hole, and then mount a slightly larger unit (LMS 332C) on the plate. Others have decided to do a side mount at the console. If I had my coice in it, I would get something like the new Lowrnce X 28 HDC, and mount it on the side, or even the Hummingbird 900 series with the side imaging (that one is bad to the bone)
I replaced mine with a Lowrance 107C last year. I used a dremel tool and hacksaw blade and was careful but I think it came out pretty good. I will try and post a pic tonight or tomorrow.

had the same situation replacing a x75 with a 102c in the bow of my 2002 19xl. took a lot of work with a dremmel but turned out pretty good even though it's not as flush as the old unit. there is a lot less room in the dash. when I decide to upgrade that one I think I'll mount a combo unit on the side of console.
I'll try to take some pics IF IT EVER STOPS SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, I would like to see how it would come out. Someone told be the 102 was about 1/4" wider but would fit with a little modification.
the 102c is more than 1/4 inch wider otherwise I think I could have just forced it in. it's aleast 1/2 inch wider. did'nt even come close to fitting in existing hole. used the dremmel to enlarge the hole so that I could fit the back of the 102 into hole. by the way stratos uses what looks like a custom bracket that holds the unit flush. This would not work for the new unit so I had to buy the flush mount bracket. as I said this was for the bow. I took the whole bow panel off so I could work on the underside. You might have to remove the center section of your console as I don't think you would be able to work from underneath with all the wiring.
