    Satisfaction with Stratos Dealers

It is nice to have a forum to share experiences etc with dealers. As we know not all dealers are created equal. This is not a thread to bash Stratos boats as I have personally owned three of them. This is a way where we can share our good, as well as less then perfect experiences. I know Stratos is reading BBC threads as I recently attending the Worcester Fishing show In Mass and spoke to a rep from Stratos. I shared with him my experiences with my local dealer. I told them the areas where my dealer excelled as well as the areas and ideas I had to make improvements from a customers perspective. I was surprised when my local dealer called me and tried to address my concerns. The first call came from one of the dealerships salesman, who also fishes with me in my local club. I explained my concerns but also told him that I would appreciate a call from someone who's name is on the dealership as it is a family business. Two weeks went by and I received a call from the owners grandson, who wanted to make things right with me. He also invited me to the dealerships open house and said we want to see you back in our dealership again. During this open house they would have factory reps from Stratos, Evinrude and Lowrance. I am writing this because in the big scheme of life we are all human. Differences can be worked out if both sides are willing to discuss them. My hats off to Stratos for helping my dealer and myself reach a honorable solution to our professional differences. Has anyone had similar experiences like this? I think I am not alone. Like I stated earlier this thread wasn't started to bash Stratos but to pass along my experience with others. Thanks for reading this.

On a scale of 1-10 I would rate my Stratos dealer

Sales- 10- Got a great deal on my boat and they worked hard to get me financing.

Parts/service- 5- The few times I dealt with their parts and service they said they would call when parts came in but never did. Also always backed up atleast two weeks. I have found a closer (non Stratos) dealership where I go for parts and service on my Yamaha. They are quick and always helpful.

I can't say anything bad at all about my Dealership or the H.R. at Stratos. When I had my 1 and only problem they jumped on it found out the problem and fixed it. even through in about 500 dollars of goodies for my troubles.

    I bought from C and O Marine
A grade A, superb outfit. Easy to buy from!!!

My only complaint is there service dept. Very hard to deal with since they won't open a shop closer to Savannah!!

Its actually a shame for me that they are 9 hours away. I chose to buy from them because of there outstanding reputation. Without a doubt it was well worth the drice!!! When I bought the boat I fully understood the distance factor. I am fortunate to have a local tech that I deal with that is awesome to deal with. That was definetly a factor in my decision to by from someone so far away. There is a Stratos dealer that is only 2 1/2 hours away and I chose to buy from Cand O and would do so again!!

I also bought my boat from C and O. i'm glad i live close to them also. you will not find anyone in the business who is better about getting your boat serviced and back to you. the only time i've ever left my boat over night was when i blew my motor. then they had it ready within 5 days. that is with a brand new powerhead.

    on a scale of 1 to 10.....

    i give C and O a 1,000,000,000,000,000

I deal with Wonderland Marine West in Michigan. I am a member of their fishing team and have grown to know most of the guys pretty well. They're all class act guys and Wonderland really caters to the fisherman. They sell all different types of boats and watercraft, but stress on the fishing boats.

The folks in the service department are great and they have taken care of me with any issues i've ever had. My brother also purchased his boat from Wonderland and any service he ever needed was taken care of Wonderland in a timely manner.

They are also involved with the BFL's in the Michigan Division providing a service trailer at all the events up here.

They also hold one of, if not the biggest bass tournament in the state, the Wonderland Open, where we usually have a field of about 110-130 boats and 10,000 dollars is first prize. LAst year FLW outdoors hosted the weigh-in and we are expecting them back this season as well...

I encourage all of you to come up and experience some of the best fishing in the country, and come fish our Open.

Even if you're up here fishing for fun, and something goes wrong, bring your boat into our service department. Tell them Jose sent you...

    Take care,

    Jose

Re: Satisfaction with Stratos Dealers (Garza200ProXL225)

Since we are complimenting boat dealers, I would like to say that I bought my bought out of state over the internet through Barling Boats sales in Fort Smith, it was a used Stratos, and if anything it was in much better shape than the pictures or they described over the phone. They were patient on when I could pick it up, being 7 hours away and were very nice. They sell Rangers and are reaquiring the Stratos line, and sell both Merc and 'Rudes. Made the long distance buy easier than I thought could be possible. Great price on my boat as well. Jim, is the salesman that took care of me.

I went to my dealer yesterday and prior to making a service agreement for my boat. To make a long story short there has once again been a change of position on my dealers part. Whom at Stratos can I talk to about a warranty issue? Any help here would be appreciated.

Well I can say the first dealing I have had with my local dealer has been great. The New Morristown Marine in Morristown, Tn, was bought out some time last year and Sam ( the new owner ) is a first class act. I bought a used boat from them and was very pleased with the whole deal. Price, financing, paperwork and all. They let me watch the mechanic run the compression test and the analaysis from the computer at my request. They were a first class act and I advise anyone is this area to give them a shot. They have a knowledgeable mechanic who is very open and easy to talk to. Hopefully they will stay this way. Kudos to Sam and the New Morristown Marine.

Re: Satisfaction with Stratos Dealers (Jerryinct)

Brought my boat to the Stratos dealer in Conn. Nov 2006 for gelcoat crack repair, they said job was to much for them. I had drove 70miles so I opted to leave it for other repairs I needed as well.Trailer bearings, install hotfoot, check hoses and reseal Hydro pump. They left grease stains and fiberglass shavings on the carpet from drilling a hole for the hotfoot cable along with the empty hotfoot box, three of the four bearing covers spit grease all over the wheels while on the way to a car wash(30 degree temp.) so I could power wash the bird droppings off the seats, carpet and boat, not a spot here or there more like someone fed piegeons from the front deck it took three cycles to clean it then wet vac to help dry it out before it froze.Cost almost 2K.I,ll see how the hotfoot works after ice out.I really like my Stratos but this dealer makes me wish I bought another Ranger.

Re: Satisfaction with Stratos Dealers (Jerryinct)

I got two letters for one of the best Stratos dealers in the South --- they carry several boat brands and motors

    C & O ......

Their website is http://www.candomarine.com kind of sounds like "Can Do" which is not far off from the truth......

They have two (2) locations --- the flagship is at White Bluff, Tennessee and they just recently opened another dealership C&O 2 in Galletin, Tennessee...

Best in Sales, Best in Service, and most definitely best in Parts...........

If C & O ain't got what you need, you probably didn't really need it anyway.......

I'm not sponsored, don't get no deals, and most definitely have other dealers closer to me --- but one thing for sure is that whenever I've been to either C&O 1 or 2, I got treated like I had bought my boat from them (which I did not) and treated like I was in the most expensive Stratos, which is a far stretch from the truth..... BUT one thing is for sure ------- it's darn hard not to give credit where credit is due......

It's your time and $$$$$$$ --- you decide how much of either you got and if you're like me --- you won't mind driving 2-hours to White Bluff or 1-hour to Galletin one-way to save a little of both and maximize both on fishing......... tight lines.....

Yep could not have said it any better. Service could be greatly improved by opening a shop here in Montgomery.
