A friend of mine has the above fastrike on his ranger. Somehow the Vent on the cap on the oil fill resevoir got blocked up. We think this stopped the flow of oil and burnt up the oil pump. ?
Should he just disconnect it and the buzzer and just mix the oil directly into the gas ? If so any idea on what the ratio is ?
Or where is the best place to buy a new pump and a new oil resevoir cap, pref on-line as the local Ranger dealer is outrageous as far as price ?

Well you are in luck, I'll be in town next week at the NC rally and will be staying in Corneilius. A new VRO/OMS is about $300.00. If you don't want to get a new one and premix the ratio is 50:1 or a pint of oil to 6 gallons of fuel. You will need to figure out how much gas is in the tank and add oil appropriately. If your bud chooses to replace the VRO/OMS have him get the part and I'll install it at the Rally for a bottle of Crown Royal that is cheap enough labor.
