    official member of Stratos family

I finally got my new to me Stratos over the weekend. Its a great looking '04 201 pro xl dc with a 250 Yamaha ox66. I will try to post pics later.

I did have a chance to put in water last night. I am not dissapointed YET, but I need help with my setup.

The prop shaft is 2 3/4 below pad. It has a 6in jackplate and a 27 3 blade prop. I am not familiar with Yamaha props but this one has 27M stamped on it so I dont know what kind it is. The I had 1/2 tank of gas two fat boys and 68.7 gps it all I could do. Far cry from the Blazer I traded in. The boat I think needs more lift. With gas 3.00 a gallon cant really afford just to go to the lake experimenting all day so thought I get get pretty close the first time asking all you boaters. The boat super easy to drive no chine walking at all IF you all can help please do. I know the boat should run lots better. I did have around 15-17 water psi at WOT. I dont really want to but I have a 10in jacplate I can put on it if it will help a lot thanks I forgot I can turn this prop 5900-6000 rpms

That motor should turn a 27T prop at 5900-6000 RPM. You will see speeds of 74 - 78 depending on load.

Correction...the Yamaha T prop has been superseeded by the T-1. Also, I would check with the people at Stratos Customer Service before I added a 10" jackplate.

Have the prop balanced and blueprinted for two reasons. First reason is that some "M" series like to throw blades if they're not balanced. The second is that I think there is something out of kilter with that prop, your RPM's are ok, but there's not enough forward push.

On my 200 PXL, the fuel gauge is way off...1/2 of a tank showing on the gauge is more like 3/4 in reality. So add that to the "two fat boys" and almost 69 isn't too bad. I would almost bet that if you were running my B & B 27 T-1, you'd be closer to 73-74 loaded. Mark on the prop page does great work with Yamaha props!

FYI... the first rev limiter on that engine is at 6150. The second is around 6400, but you would need to bypass the first one to get to the second one.

thanks for the post. I personally think the prop is junk but dont know for sure. I have seen some damaged props and this one is not bad but does have a a couple of knicks. I bought the boat from a dealer but figure the person who traded it to them put their spare prop on the boat. Just a guess. thanks Every post I have read on these boats are at least 73 but most 75mph I just want what it can do
