Bent Skeg

My skeg is slightly bent. I don't feel any vibration, just a slight pull to the right, which I assume is normal. What is the best way to straighten it out. It is cast so I hear it doesn't bend easily??? Do I need to heat it up first? Will the heat take off the paint?

there is supposed to be a slight bend to compensate for prop torque. Your feeling prop torque w/ it pulling to the right and if it's really hard to turn left, add a skeg wedge/torque tab.

The skeg on mine is slightly bent as well. It does not seem to affect it any. I figure as long as there is still one on there its ok.

You can try to pound it back with a rubber mallet and a block of wood. Mine was bent a little on the tip and some of the back of it next to the prop was missing so I trimmed it back a little with a hack saw and now it looks like new again.
