I just had the VRO replaced with BRP's version of the VRO..........that solved my starving for gas at low speed problem.
So I take the boat out to check out the new VRO. Boat ran fine all day.......when I loaded it on the trailer...I could smell gas. I looked in the splash well and you could see gas mixed with the water. So I pulled the cowling and didn't see any gas......or anything wet with gas. I pumped the bulb several times and then seen gas coming from the plastic carb cover. I removed the face of the plastic carb cover and pumped the bulb again. As you are looking at the carb throats.......the top left carb had gas running out of the small brass orfice immeditately below the carb throat.....each time I pumped the bulb. None of the other carbs did this.
I also noticed puddles of gas on the 2 carbs below this one.....so the gas must be pumping out of this orfice on the top carb and settling in the indentations of the other 2.
Is the float stuck?? Or do I need to rebuild this carb??? I just had them all rebuilt May 2006..... HELP!!! I just spent a lot of $$ on the new VRO........I would like to try to take care of this myself.
