    Tracker pro 190 (No Speed)

I have a 2013 pro 190 with a 90hp opt and a power tech 21p prop and mounted on the 2nd hole down. I have tried 4 different props now and moved my motor from different holes but I can not get my boat above 42mph. Can any one help me out and tell me what I need to do to get my boat going 45+. I have heard people talk about there Pro 190 going 50mph with a 90hp on the back. I think it might be this P.O.S power tech props I been trying out. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

I have my 90(4 stroke) on the second hole and was only getting 39 with the stock 19p black max. Went to the 19p X7 and hit 45.

What kind of RPM are you getting with the props. I think you might need to pitch down to a 19. I know people say they are getting 45+ with that motor but other things might be involved such as a jack plate. Realistically 42 is about the best you can expect. I have a TV18 tracker with a 115 opti about 45 is my max speed. It does have a deep V hull so that limits the speed. A jack plate might give you the extra speed you want.

First, don't believe what other people tell you about their boat speed. First time I took mine out, it was very light loaded, running with the current, and a wind at my back, I hit 51 mph. Haven't done it since. Now I could go around and tell everyone yeah my boat runs 51. Lot of people would.

42-43 is about what you can expect. A 115 gives 45-48. I'd consider a Laser, also.

1, 21p is to much for a 90 on that boat.
2, PowerTech props are good on these combo. With the right style and pitch. As for any prop made.
3, With that pitch, the hole shot must suck
4, Above 45 with this boat motor combo is unrealistic, without a jack plate and and a ton of work on prop selection, and reworked prop. For the weight distribution of the way you run the boat.
5, If you want to run a SS prop. It should be between 17and 20p
    6,
    7,

The list of things could go on and on. But start with the basics. And give us your weight as how you run the boat normally. With WOT rpms. ( true rpms not in dash tach reading) And gear size on motor. If nothing else get a $25.00 tinny tech for the reading.

I am getting 5,750 rpm. The hole shot is great, it gets up and goes and on full plain in 3sec, with a full tournament load in the boat. 21p power tech was recommended by power tech. I went to there shop because it is right down the road and that's the prop they told me to get. I have put a 22p Laser2 prop on my boat before that my buddy has on his boat and I was running 44mph on GPS. So I thought putting my motor on the 2nd hole and a 21p power tech prop would net me the same because power tech is a little more aggressive them a Laser2.

So your motor is in the 2nd hole down, now?

If so, then have that prop worked to a 20.5p. Rpms will go up to around 5900. Holeshot will even be better. But speed will be the same or 1 mph better.

If you go to the Laser. You'll need cup anyway, and you'll have the price of the new prop to.

45 with a 90 IMO is doing pretty good. I am pretty sure it takes a 115 to push that hull to 50.

If the water is running over the cavitation plate when you're at full speed you can definitely go up one hole like JoeBuck said and pick up a few rpm's and maybe 1 or 2 mph and realistically you're probably going to max out at 44-45. I just moved my Crestliner VT 18 up 2 holes to the 4th and tried it out tonight for the first time and my max was 46 (calm water) with a 115 ProXS but I'm under propped.

Without a pad style hull you won't hit 45 mph with your motor, especially in Louisiana heat and humidity. You need a 20-21" Laser II prop with some cup and if mounted on the 2nd or 3rd hole you could see 43-44 mph in good water when it's not sweltering heat and humidity. I have 13 years experience with a Opti 90 on both a 17' 6" pad hull and now on a 18' 8" non-pad hull. On the pad hull I'd run a 24" prop in cooler weather and see 49-50 on a regular basis (fishing alone) but with the non-pad hull and a slightly heavier boat 44+ mph is the best I can do with a 22" Laser II with cup and I really need a 21" as I only see 5500 rpm.

if you are running 5750 rpm then you are right ln the money there. Is that via smartcraft or analog tach? These engines can stretch to 5800 in most cases before the limiter will sound. What rpms were you getting with the laser? A cupped laser will be your best all around performer its a good prop for that hull and hp class. Rpm wise you are good and 44mph with that motor is a good speed with no jack plate etc.

Whats sad is your 90 can run same speed as most 115s on the Ranger hull.
