    Stain on carpet

I got something on my carpet and have been unsuccessful at getting it up. I tried Folex and I tried a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water. Neither removed it. Anybody have any suggestions? This is going to drive me crazy until I get it up.

    Thanks!

what is the stain? I spilled spike-it on mine a while back, but the sun seems to have removed it or faded it so I can't see it....I have a grey carpet. nothing I tried worked

Unfortunately I have no idea what got on it. I was not using Spike-It and did not spill a drink on it. Here is a pic of it.

that stinks! not knowing what it is makes it tough to know what to use. it will probably go away from the sun eventually, but just be careful in what you use if you continue to try cleaners. I used some a while back that released the glue under the carpet....I wish I could suggest something, but I'm just not sure. have you already done a google search for carpet stains?

I have a stain on mine that the previous owner made. It will clean up but comes back quickly. I can tell it's an oil based stain as it beads water very well
I've tried everything to get rid of it. With no success

Good luck on yours. Mine is 10x worse

Bass Boat Saver would be what I try, I know it takes out soaked in coffee stains.

I've know guys who drink a shot a day of BBS and live to 150 years old and have the vigor of a 21 year old.

I know lots of guys love BBS (myself included), but 'm not sure I'd try cleaning my carpet with it! That's just me though....whatever works!

I know the others that say, AMS OIL, is the cure for all of your marine needs. If not for BBS & AMS, where would we be.

It looks to be oil base. Maybe someone dipped their worm or jig in one of the fish formulas or ate at one of the local greasy spoons. And dribbled.

I think I'd start with a mild solution of Dawn & water with a scrub brush.

    Re: Stain on carpet (SKEETER19741)

I have tried Folex, 50/50 vinegar and water, Dawn soap, and Resolve and it is still there. When the carpet dries tomorrow I am going to try the BBS and if that does not work I will look into this. I wish I knew what got on the carpet. This is driving me crazy.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

yeah but wouldn't soap & water, or any other water based cleaner do the same thing? I'm not trying to be disagreeable....just curious!

    Re: (blackknife)

I would scrub it good with soap and water and extract it with a shop vac. If you don't extract it you will just spread the staining substance around. Keep doing it several times you should be able to get it out!!

If you spray BBS on the stain immediately, it basically helps to lubricate the carpet and make it easier for the staining substance (blood, gut, coffee)to come out. I was just talking to the inventor of BBS about this the other day. He said that there are lots of bass boats out there have had their carpets saturated in BBS and it works great for that as well as shining your boat hull, seats etc.

That sounds like someone trying to sell more product! Bbs is okay stuff but everyone on here thinks it is holy water. Personally I do not like to use it to polish my boat cuz it leaves streaks

WD40 - Believe it or not. If it is oil based WD40 will work for sure.
I know it sounds stupid but check this site out.

If you have dried blood hydrogen peroxide works best, I work in Ems and learned that little trick getting blood out of my clothes and its only a dollar for a big bottle at dollar general, just used it on mine today gut hooked a fish and he bled all over my front deck last night poured it on the dry blood let it sit a sec and took the pressure washer to it looks like new.
