    Skeeter 202dc

I have a chance to get a 1998 Skeeter 202dc boat With a rebuilt 200 Yamaha for 9500.00. It sounds like a good deal. My question is how does the boat perform in rough water, is this boat underpowered with the 200 on it and last I was looking at the Ranger 518 or 519, how does the 202 compare to these boats. I owned a Ranger before and liked it. Any info appreciated.

Depends on the year model, I think...some 202s were rated for a 225, some for a 200. The ride will be good. Not sure about the price, good or bad, but I wouldn't hesitate to have a 202...basically the same as a ZX225, I believe.

Im guessing you mean a zx 202c. i just bought mine 3 months ago. big step up from my ranger and practicly the same boat as a zx 225 just for about 2/3 the price. i have only set mine down once but it was easily hitting 68 with a 30 mph head wind and a pretty heavy load on gps. plus i still had at least another 400 rpm. ive heard from more than one person that these boats are faster than the zx 225s but i would have no idea why but who knows.

Owned a 1997 zx202dc for 10 years. Handles rough water great and the Pro V 200, assuming thats what it is, will or should run around 70 or so if set up right. Sounds like the price is in the neighberhood of where it should be depending on condition.

I have a 1999 ZX202c with a 1999 Mercury 200EFI. My will top out at about 63MPH (with full tanks of gas). It is a great handling boat and I love it. I have nothing to compare it to, as this is my first boat. I would think $9500 would be a good deal if it is in great shape. I paid $11,500 for mine last summer and it is in first class condition. Oh, and mine is max rated at 200HP...I don't know why but the 2000 model with the exact same spec's is rated for a 225HP...weird.

I have owned mine for about a year and I love it. You're essentially getting a very similar zx platform that cost 40-50k new. 9500 will be a good deal if it's in good shape and the motor checks out.

Mine is a 99 and has a 200 ox66 efi. I believe the 00's were rated for a 225 and became the zx225 a few years later. I think they were basically the same boat with different decals/cosmetics.

I can hit about 68, but with a little prop and setup work 70 is possible. The boat is great in rough water and a cadillac at cruising speeds.

You guys that are hitting around 70 mph, what prop and setup are you guys running. I have a 2000 Skeeter Zx202c with a OX66 200hp and running a 26p tempest plus, best GPS speed loaded is 62.3????

I ran a 25 tempest but also had a few mods to the motor. Overall the tempest was the best prop for mine with or without mods. The 26 would not get the rpm's

I have a 2000 ZX202dc w/ Yammy 3.1L OX66 on 12" slide-master. The power rating is dependent on the month of production. If it was built early in the year its 200 H.P. and about half way through the production year it was increased to 225. I can only get 65 out of mine and iI haven't tried to move the jack plate or changed props. This boat rides like a dream and thats compared to my buddy's 522 Ranger!

    Re: (boewalls)

Iv'e owned a 1998 zx 202c, with a 2.6 ltr carbed version of the Yamaha 200 Vmax since new. Still looks new since always garaged. With a Yamaha M25 prop and half filled tanks , one person , she'll do 68 mph on a gps. Loves rough water. With the price of todays new boats being what they are, I'll hang onto the (old) gal for awhile longer
