I have a 2011 ZX225 with the slidemaster jackplate. I have been looking at installing a hydraulic jackplate and needed some input. Will I get better performance by just adding a 4" jackplate to my current 10" giving me 14" of setback or by adding a new 10" hydro jackplate? Had a local guy that has been racing boats for 30 years and has been successful say I needed the 14" of setback but a Skeeter is not anywhere close to the design of boat he races. Also he would be doing the install at his dealership and would need to drill a second hole in my hull for the hoses beside the hole where my wiring for the motor enters the hull now. I haven't paid any attention before but is the second hole neccassary? Seems to me it might would void my hull warranty.
