    1992 Skeeter SS140

Ok, I am the proud new owner of this boat, and I was informed that the bilge and livewell pumps work, but the switches on the console weren't working right. Sounded like a simple fix to me, but I can't seem to find either pump. This is my first bass boat, so I'm extremely new to how a live well and bilge are set up. Where are they located in the boat?? After tracing some of the hoses, it looks like they are behind the gas tank. If this is accurate, do I have to remove the tanks to get to or replace them.

    Thanks,

There are two fresh water fill pumps in the sump area of the boat. Those pumps are controled by the switches on the bow and stern. If you have the tournament model you will also have recirculation pumps on the bottom of the livewells. Those are controled by the switches on the dash. Now how to get to the pumps on the bottom of the livewells???? Move everthing in your way. Sorry that is the best answer I got. The manuel for your boat is on skeeters website under "my boat" and then "owners manuals."

Mines an SS 150, my pumps are located beneath the fuel tank in bilge area. No matter how many times I try I can't get my tank out, it's just to big for the opening. I can un-strap it and push it forward and I kinda can accces them. Don't know the SS 140 layout but I'm sure it's similar, you may be able to remove your tank.

Thanks for the information. I took it out yesterday and everything worked great except for the livewell and bilge pumps. The engine ran great. Looks like if I can get this pump thing lined out I'll have a solid rig. You said that you could "slide your tank over and access the pumps", are you able to remove them, or can you just barely see them??

    Thanks,

I had to push it forward all the way up against the livewells to reach my flasher transducer, if I can remeber I think I could remove the pumps but it was tight. In the spring I need to check a livewell pump so I need to do it again, problem is it's -24 here and my boat sleeping under tarps and snow.
